did you end up getting CS3? I've used both. they run very similarly - the AS is a lot different as said, but just create a doc with AS 2.0 instead of 3.0 and it should be pretty much the same as old.
But the whole saving thing sounds like more of a computer problem than a program problem, hmmm... not sure - you definitely know more about that stuff than me.

What FPS did you use on the original shape movies?
I remember in most of my first movies I worked with 12fps. Then I grew into using like 18fps.
But now for the most part I use either 24 or 30fps.
The first shape was 12fps, but the second, the little Christmas one... Was 12fps too. But the THIRD, which I'm probably never gonna submit to NG, is in 20fps. (Well, there is a chance that I may finish Shape 3 and THEN start on Shape 4 in 30fps.)

Ja, det tar mye kortere tid å save. Det er bare raskere. Og lit enklere. Og det kommuniserer bra med Illustrator. Jeg vet ikke mer.
